Not only did Jimmy Fallon have President Barack Obama on his Late Night show, he also welcomed Dave Matthews as the musical guest. With a new album coming “later this year”, Dave gave the fans a little preview of what’s to come as he debuted a new song “Mercy” with the help of The Roots’ Captain Kirk Douglas.
The simple, sweet, acoustic number is the first glimpse into the work the band did with old producer Steve Lillywhite on the upcoming release. As Steve confirmed, the song will not be simply acoustic on the album, but nonetheless, it is a hopeful sign for the future of the band.
Dave also joined Jimmy Fallon earlier in the show for a parody song “Walk of Shame”. If you went to college, you know exactly what this song was about. Enjoy.
