The Umphrey’s McG. Love Tour rolls on tonight in Asbury Park, NJ at a venue the band has played five times dating all the way back to 2004. Last night in Boston, the band dusted off some of their heavy hitters such as “Resolution” and “2×2″ along with some solid cuts from their newer repertoire (“Miami Virtue” and my personal favorite, “Comma Later”) but the song of note last night was “Crucial Taunt,” the unnamed Summer Camp debut. And yes, it appears as if this song did get its name from the band in Wayne’s World. Either way, it is always nice to see a new song hang around in rotation and get another play at a show.
Tonight, the tour comes through The Home of The Boss, Asbury Park, NJ. Maybe we’ll be treated to a Springsteen cover? How about a Springsteen sit in? Maybe not, but either way it should be a fun show as bassist Ryan Stasik has the setlist controls tonight. If anyone knows anything about Pony setlists, its that they are unpredictably awesome, so buckle up and expect anything.
